AcerAcademy is a free study platform. This page explains, in plain language, what data the site collects, why, and what it doesn't do with it. AcerAcademy is not a company product — it's a small, independently run site, and this notice is written to be accurate rather than legalistic.
If you don't sign in
You can use every tool on the site — curriculum browsing, quizzes, worksheets, flashcards, the tutor, and the essay grader — without creating an account. Your progress (XP, streaks, quiz history) is saved only in your browser's local storage on your device.
The site does record an anonymous, aggregate visit count per page (e.g. "Essay Grader was opened 40 times today") so the site's usage can be understood and improved. This count isn't tied to your name, email, or any personal identifier — just an automatically generated, disposable ID with no information attached to it.
If you sign in with Google
Signing in is optional and only unlocks one thing: syncing your progress across devices. If you sign in, the site stores:
- Your name, email, and profile picture, as provided by Google — used only to identify your account and display your name/avatar back to you.
- Your XP, streaks, quiz history, and similar in-app progress data, so it's available on any device you sign into.
This data is stored in a private Firestore database, readable and writable only by your own signed-in account (enforced by the site's security rules) — no other visitor or account can read it.
What AcerAcademy does not do
- No ads, and no third parties pay to promote anything on this site.
- Your data is never sold, shared, or used for advertising, on this site or elsewhere.
- No tracking across other websites — analytics here are limited to AcerAcademy's own pages.
Admin content
A small admin tool lets the site's maintainer edit curriculum content and view the aggregate visit counts described above. It does not expose any individual visitor's identity, browsing history, or personal data.
