About AcerAcademy
Last updated July 19, 2026
AcerAcademy is a free K-12 and AP study platform: curriculum browsing, quizzes, worksheets, flashcards, an AI-style tutor, an essay grader, and 40+ other study tools, covering grades K-12 and all 42 official AP subjects.
The facts
- Free, with no paid tier. Every tool on the site is usable without signing in or paying.
- No ads. Nothing on the site is a sponsored placement, and no third party pays to be promoted here.
- No data sold or shared. See the full Privacy & Terms page for specifics on what's collected if you choose to sign in.
- All 42 official AP subjects, each with topic-organized concept drills and AP-specific practice formats.
- Standards-aligned to Common Core, NGSS, and CSTA for K-12 content.
- Solo-maintained. AcerAcademy is built and run by one independent developer, not a company or a funded startup.
Why free?
AcerAcademy started as a tool built to be genuinely useful, not to generate ad revenue or collect data to sell. Keeping it free and ad-free is a deliberate choice: the site runs entirely on free-tier infrastructure (static hosting plus Firebase's free Spark plan), which keeps operating cost at zero and means there's no monetization pressure that would otherwise push toward ads, paywalls, or selling user data.
Being honest about the AI tutor
AcerAcademy's tutor and essay grader use rule-based, scripted logic today -- not a live large language model. Wiring in a real model was built and tested, then deliberately held back, because enabling it requires moving Firebase off its free tier. Rather than overstate what the tutor currently does, this is stated plainly here: it's a guided, Socratic-style practice tool, not a conversational AI.
